After more than 30 years of dreaming about having a shop we decided to make that dream a reality and build The Outpost, an independent shop in Hethersgill, Cumbria, just 20 minutes east of Carlisle.

Created for both the people who live locally and those visiting Cumbria, The Outpost brings together a carefully chosen collection of beautiful, useful and thoughtfully made things, with a strong emphasis on traditional craftsmanship, natural materials and local sourcing.
